Some of the works by young artists that fetch six figures in Manhattan are rarely seen outside of New York. As soon as anyone with an Internet connection can see them and forward them around, who knows what we might find out about their worth? It seems silly to search for Picassos by color. But it will be far less silly when a search for paintings by color gives us the next Picasso. That might just be the day when the art market becomes an open market.
